Hi Pianists and Piano Parents,

I'm XinRu Chen, and over the years I've somehow collected quite a few titles:

• A pianist who completed her PhD at the Royal Academy of Music at age 26
• A concert pianist who has performed over 100 times across 6 countries, and was awarded ARAM
• A piano teacher who has taught 50+ wonderful students with a 100% ABRSM pass rate
• A YouTuber with almost 10,000 subscribers who still gets excited every time someone leaves a kind comment
• A future novelist whose fictional characters currently have a more organised life than she does

And now? I am the founder of The Piano Cottage.

It is where everything I've learned from performing, practising, researching, teaching, making mistakes, and starting over again comes together in one place: the Layered Piano Method™. My hope is simple — to help more pianists learn faster, practise smarter, and enjoy music for longer.
