Advanced Piano Lessons

Once a pianist reaches Grade 8, progress is no longer about learning more notes — it's about how you play them. Advanced lessons at The Piano Cottage focus on the things that separate a correct performance from a beautiful one: tone, voicing, pedalling, phrasing, and the musical decisions that make a piece your own.

Who this is for

Pianists at Grade 8 and above working toward diplomas, returning adult pianists with a solid foundation, and anyone who can already play but feels they've plateaued and wants to sound genuinely musical.

What we work on

• Technique & tone — producing a singing, controlled sound
• Voicing & balance — making the melody sing over the accompaniment
• Pedalling, phrasing & musical shaping
• Efficient, intelligent practice — learning more in less time
• Exam & performance preparation (ABRSM / Trinity / diplomas)
